Need advice on disputes and conflicts?
1. Introduction
When you contact us, you share personal data with us. You often provide this information yourself so that we can answer an urgent question or keep you informed of the latest developments in the legal field through our blogs. Sometimes, however, you also provide information without actively sending it to us yourself (for example, via cookies). In this privacy statement, we explain which data we collect from you, why we need it, what we do with it, and what rights you have. In short: how do we handle your personal data and privacy?
1.1 What is personal data?
Personal data includes anything that allows us to identify you directly or indirectly. This covers direct personal details, such as your name, email address, and telephone number, as well as information that makes it easy to trace certain data or actions back to you, such as your IP address. When you complete a form on our website—or even when you simply visit our website—you provide us with access to your personal data.
1.2. Who processes your personal data?
This privacy statement applies to all data processed by FT-advocaten, or for which FT-advocaten is responsible for the processing. Below you will find our business and contact details, so you can reach us at any time should you have questions about how we process your personal data.

2. For what purpose do we use your personal data?
2.1. Contact form
Sometimes you may wish to get in touch with us, and for that purpose FT-advocaten provides a contact form on its website.
2.1.1. What data do we request and why?
We ask for your name so we know who we are in contact with. This makes communication smoother and more personal. To be able to reach you, we need your email address and telephone number. In addition, we ask you to write a message in the text field at the bottom of the contact form. This allows us to prepare properly and assist you as effectively and efficiently as possible.
When you complete the contact form and provide us with the above-mentioned data, you give your consent for us to use this information to maintain contact with you. The data you entrust to us via the contact form will not be used for other (commercial) purposes. FT-advocaten never sells personal data to third parties.
2.2. Newsletter
To keep you informed of interesting developments, FT-advocaten regularly sends out a newsletter containing legal blogs for accountants and tax advisers. You can subscribe via the sign-up form on our website. After registering, you will receive an email from us confirming your subscription.
2.2.2. What data do we process and why?
We like to address our newsletters to you personally. To do this, we need your name. We also require your email address in order to send the newsletter to you. By subscribing, you give us permission to send you newsletters by email, to store your name and email address in our database, and to use your name in the newsletter salutation. You will not receive newsletters from us unless you have given us your consent. We never sell your data to third parties.
For processing newsletter subscriptions and sending newsletters, we use the program Mailchimp. In addition to the data you provide to us, Mailchimp shows us whether the newsletter has been delivered to you, whether you open it, which links you click within the newsletter, and which email domain you use. We use this reading behaviour to improve the newsletter and to tailor its content more closely to our readers.
2.2.3. Where do we store your data?
When you submit your subscription for the FT-advocaten newsletter, your data is automatically stored in Mailchimp. Mailchimp is an external party based in the United States. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree that we share your data with them. We have a contract with Mailchimp to ensure that your personal data is handled securely and in accordance with privacy regulations.
2.2.4. How long do we keep your data?
We keep your data for as long as you are subscribed to our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time. This can be done by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in any newsletter you receive, or by notifying us by phone or in writing. When you unsubscribe via the link in the newsletter, we permanently delete your personal data from Mailchimp within 30 days. The same deletion period applies if you inform us directly that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter.
You can contact us by phone, email, or post using the contact details provided in paragraph 1.2.
2.3. Google Analytics Cookies
To gain insights into how visitors use our website, FT-advocaten.nl makes use of Google Analytics. Cookies are placed for this purpose.
To protect your privacy:
- An agreement has been made with Google (USA).
- Collected data is anonymised by masking the last octet of your IP address.
- The ‘Data sharing with Google’ option is disabled, ensuring Google does not use your data for its own purposes.
- No other Google services are combined with the Google Analytics cookies.
This ensures that your usage history cannot be traced back to you personally.
3. Your Rights
3.1. Accessing, correcting, deleting, or transferring your data
You have the right, at any time, to see which data we hold about you. Once you inform us that you wish to access your data, we will provide it within 30 days.
You also have the right to request that FT-advocaten correct or delete your personal data. The same 30-day period applies for corrections or deletions. If you are an active client of FT-advocaten, we may need to retain your data to fulfil our agreement, in which case deletion may not yet be possible.
You have the right to receive your personal data from us so that you can easily transfer it to another organisation. You may also request that we transfer the information directly to a third party. This only applies to data for which you have given us consent to process and to data necessary for the performance of a contract.
3.2. Withdrawing consent for processing personal data
When you contact FT-advocaten, as described in section 2 of this privacy statement, you give consent for certain actions to be carried out and, in some cases, for personal data to be stored. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
If you wish to withdraw your consent, you can notify us by telephone or in writing. Our contact details can be found in section 1.2.
3.3. Lodging a Complaint
If you disagree with the way FT-advocaten handles the processing of your personal data, you may file a complaint with us.
If we are unable to resolve the issue internally, you have the right to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
